The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has made a major claim before the Supreme Court, alleging that NewsClick received funding linked to US-based businessman Neville Roy Singham as part of what the agency describes as an information warfare campaign aimed at promoting Chinese propaganda and undermining India’s sovereignty.
NewsClick and Purkayastha have denied the allegations, maintaining that the portal is independent and has no links with the Chinese government. The ED’s claims remain contested and should not be treated as established findings of guilt.
