U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday (August 14) said the deployment of the USS Abraham Lincoln had been “not nearly long enough,” dismissing concerns about poor conditions aboard the aircraft carrier after two military-focused outlets reported declining morale and suicide attempts among its crew.
Trump said the Lincoln was moving or would move shortly and would be replaced by another “very similar ship.”
The carrier has been at sea since November 2025 and in West Asia since January, supporting the U.S. war with Iran.
