Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he wants to introduce new laws that could strip citizenship from people who “defame” Israeli soldiers or the state.

The move comes after Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor faced intense backlash over their documentary NAZA.
The film takes its title from an acronym reportedly used by the Israeli intelligence service for expected “collateral casualties”.
It alleges “mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza” was “calculated” by Israeli military personnel, according to the official synopsis.
The Israeli government rejects those accusations.
NAZA recently just received a special jury prize and an unprecedented 25 minute long standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival.
The directors have also faced threats from Israeli ultra-nationalist groups while more than 1,500 Israeli filmmakers have signed a petition supporting them and freedom of expression.
