German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul met his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. It was the first such bilateral meeting in years. Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman stated the German side had initiated the meeting.
