With Khan still in prison, his supporters are planning the ‘Imran March’ while authorities have tightened security across Islamabad and Punjab. Roads have been blocked, containers deployed and additional security personnel requested ahead of the demonstration. Khan’s son Kasim Khan has also issued a warning, urging supporters not to protest near Adiala Jail over fears that violence could endanger his father. Meanwhile, several members of Khan’s family have been detained, adding another flashpoint ahead of the planned mobilisation. Authorities say the security measures and detentions are linked to security threats, while PTI has accused the government of attempting to suppress its protest.
