Odisha Flood Crisis: Brahmani River Swells, Nearly 150 Students Stranded In Kendrapara | N18S

Listen to this article

The flood situation in Odisha’s Kendrapara district has become increasingly severe as the Brahmani River continues to swell. The worsening conditions have left several people stranded, including nearly 150 students who are currently unable to leave a residential school.
The affected students are staying at Ashram Residential School in Kulasahi, situated close to the Brahmani River in Penthapal panchayat of Pattamundai block. They were unable to return home after floodwaters rose abruptly in the locality, forcing them to remain within the school compound.

Efforts are now being made to rescue the stranded students and move them to safety. However, the Fire Services personnel have so far been unable to reach the school because of the inundation. Preparations are underway to begin the rescue mission and evacuate the students from the affected premises.
