Police search for group in Brooklyn robbery pattern targeting moped, e‑bike riders

Police are asking for the public’s help as they search for a group wanted in a string of robberies across Brooklyn, targeting people riding mopeds and e‑bikes. Investigators say there have been at least five robberies since March, occurring in multiple neighborhoods. In several cases, police say the victims were teenagers as young as 14 years old. Police released images of six people they are trying to identify. The photos show suspects riding mopeds, most with their faces covered. While some of the images are pixelated, investigators hope someone recognizes the group. According to police, the suspected robbery pattern began on March 20 in Bensonhurst, where two teens, ages 14 and 15, were surrounded, one was punched, and their moped was stolen. On April 4 in Crown Heights, a man riding a moped was stopped and police say a knife was displayed before his bike was taken. On April 6 near Floyd Bennett Field, another rider was targeted and police say a gun was shown, though the motorcycle was not taken. Later that same day in Bath Beach, a 15‑year‑old was knocked off an e‑bike, and his bike and backpack were stolen. ,Most recently on April 8 in Park Slope, police say a 16‑year‑old had his moped stolen by the group. ,Police say most of the incidents happened in the afternoon. Anyone who recognizes the suspects is urged to contact Crime Stoppers. » Subscribe to News 12: https://bit.ly/4dyeWzd About News 12: News 12 is the exclusive 24-hour local news service dedicated to bringing you the best local news and information about your neighborhoods.
