Five men have been arrested by police on suspicion of explosives offences near RAF Fairford, the UK airbase used by the US to strike Iranian targets.
85 homes in the nearby village of Whelford have been evacuated, as an investigation led by counter-terror police is underway.
The men detained have been further arrested on suspicion of the preparation of a terrorist act, the Metropolitan Police said.
