Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met the parents of Ankita Bhandari at India Gate in Delhi, as the family continues to demand justice in the 2022 Uttarakhand murder case.
The family is protesting the appointment of BJP leader Dushyant Kumar Gautam as Sikkim Governor and has sought a halt to the appointment until the investigation into the alleged VIP angle is completed. The controversy has brought renewed attention to the case and the family’s demand for accountability.
Ankita, a 19-year-old receptionist at a resort near Rishikesh, was murdered in September 2022. Three men convicted in the case were sentenced to life imprisonment.
