Captain Smit Machchhar is recovering after being stabbed by his co-pilot aboard a Flydubai flight, while the aircraft was reportedly plunging thousands of feet. In this video, Firstpost examines Machchhar’s own account of the attack, including how he opened the cockpit door despite being injured, allowing passengers and other pilots to intervene and helping the aircraft land safely in Saudi Arabia. The video also looks at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s praise for his actions, his family’s response, prayers and public support across India, and calls to honour the pilot. It also examines the unanswered questions surrounding the co-pilot, his reported background, the possible motive and the ongoing investigation. Hem Saroya tells you more.
