Two orangutan babies who earlier suffered from severe anaemia are now showing signs of recovery. They are showing normal behaviour, activity and faecal consistency, according to a health assessment report. Their milk intake is being gradually increased, while steamed carrots and beans have been added to their diet. Ladders and ropes have also been provided in the quarantine cell as part of behavioural enrichment. Experts have advised gradually increasing their feed, introducing solid food and eliminating the worm load. Meanwhile, all five rescued orangutan babies at the facility are stable and showing normal feed acceptance. The approximately one-year-old infants are being closely monitored by veterinarians, biologists and forest officials.
