FIRED military publisher DENOUNCES future of paper under Hegseth

Listen to this article

Max Lederer, the former publisher of the military publication Stars and Stripes, sounds off on the future of the paper under Pete Hegseth after getting fired by the Pentagon. “How can you be transparent if you don’t have the Pentagon’s voice?”

This week, a federal judge declined to stop the Pentagon from dismissing Lederer and two other journalists from the newspaper. The journalists are suing Hegseth, claiming they were retaliated against over negative news coverage and speaking out against press freedom.

Lederer tells Jacob Soboroff their lawsuit will “continue on.”
