“We need to expand such corridors” — Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has urged Russia and Ukraine to expand humanitarian corridors and pursue opportunities for de-escalation following the Alyoshki evacuation mission.
Speaking at the International Conference on Eurasian Security in Minsk, Lukashenko highlighted cooperation between Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova and her Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Lubinets.
The Alyoshki humanitarian operation enabled the evacuation of residents and the delivery of food, medicine and other essential supplies during a temporary ceasefire.
Can humanitarian cooperation open the door to wider de-escalation in the Russia-Ukraine war?
