Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian criticised Western governments over their role in global security during talks with European Council President Antonio Costa in New York.
“The intervention of Western governments has affected global security,” Pezeshkian said, calling on European countries to reconsider their approach to Iran.
He also criticised Europe’s handling of Iran’s nuclear programme and the reinstatement of UN sanctions.
Costa urged Iran to resume cooperation with the IAEA, stop strikes on neighbouring countries and restore freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
