A live performer in northern Tehran’s busy Tajrish Square on Wednesday (October 21) impersonated US President Donald Trump behind bars in an art installation above the traffic.
Wearing a mask that resembles Trump, and dressed in a dark suit and red tie, the actor moved inside the mock cell as by-passers watched on.
The display was part of a billboard installation in the capital, carrying the slogan “It is a crime not to see this scene.”
An Iranian citizen, Atousa, who was there on Wednesday and saw the installation said the display was “very heartening”.
A day earlier, Iran told Pakistan’s army chief that there would be no talks with Washington until Tehran’s demands were met, Iranian media reported, underscoring its hardening stance despite mediation efforts by key interlocutor Pakistan.
