US President Donald Trump has claimed that American submarines are 15 years ahead of Russia’s, describing them as the world’s most powerful weapon. Speaking at a rally in Ohio, Trump announced that the Department of War had selected the state to host a new US Submarine Component Repair Centre. He called the facility a major development, saying it had attracted significant interest.
The announcement comes ahead of the US midterm elections scheduled for November 3, as Trump highlights defence capabilities and domestic investment.
