The warnings about artificial intelligence are growing more urgent. Increasingly, they’re coming from inside the tech industry.

AI researchers have resigned over safety concerns, while some of the field’s most prominent leaders are calling for stronger government oversight. But Congress has yet to agree on meaningful safeguards.
