Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators and anti-fascist groups marched through Vicenza in northern Italy on Saturday, protesting the presence of an Israeli pavilion at the VicenzaOro jewellery trade fair and demanding sanctions over Israel’s war in Gaza. Protesters carrying Palestinian flags accused Italy and other European governments of supporting Israel and called for the pavilion to be excluded from the fair. The demonstration comes amid international scrutiny of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, settlement expansion and land seizures in the occupied West Bank. Police guarded the exhibition site as protesters marched through the city.
