SHYMKENT, Kazakhstan — Heads of delegation gathered for a traditional group photo ahead of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting, held August 6-7 in Shymkent. The council, chaired by Belarus’s Prime Minister and Chairman of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council Alexander Turchin, brought together heads of government from Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states, including Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Discussions at the gathering were expected to focus on deepening integration between EAEU member states, including customs administration, industrial cooperation, and development of an integrated information system. On the sidelines of the session, Mishustin also held a bilateral meeting with Cuban Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga to discuss bilateral cooperation.
