US forces have disabled a commercial cargo vessel in the Gulf of Oman after it allegedly attempted to breach Washington’s naval blockade against Iran.
US Central Command says the St. Kitts-flagged M/V Huda ignored repeated warnings after visiting an Iranian port. A US military aircraft fired precision munitions at the ship’s stern, disabling the vessel.
Washington says 147 commercial ships have been redirected and five merchant vessels disabled since July as the US tightens its blockade against Iran.
The Gulf of Oman is becoming a flashpoint in the escalating US-Iran confrontation.
