Thousands of people gathered outside Argentina’s Congress in Buenos Aires to protest against the government’s proposed land and property reform bill, leading to clashes with police.
Riot police used water cannons, tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowd after violence broke out during the demonstration.
The proposed reforms have been strongly opposed by trade unions, social organisations and war veterans, who say the changes could threaten Argentina’s national sovereignty.
Protesters also accused security forces of using excessive force while breaking up the demonstration.
