Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin defended federal immigration officers involved in Thursday’s shooting in New York City, while criticizing Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s immigration policies.
Mullin said the officers did not know a 5-year-old child was in the vehicle and confirmed their body cameras were activated. The shooting remains under investigation.
