A massive fire tore through a chemical factory in Itaquaquecetuba, part of Brazil’s greater São Paulo metropolitan area, forcing authorities to evacuate around 150 nearby residents as a precaution.
The blaze erupted at Quema Química, a manufacturer of solvents and polyester resins. The São Paulo Fire Department deployed 30 fire engines to battle the flames, with emergency crews working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to surrounding areas.
