Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Canada in December, as India and Canada work to advance negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Carney described the India-Canada relationship as “exceptionally important” and said the two countries are making “good progress” in trade negotiations.
India and Canada have committed to concluding CEPA negotiations in 2026, with both sides working to fast-track the talks. The fourth round of negotiations concluded in September, with the next round scheduled for October 5.
