Did Trump send troops into L.A. to distract you from these pictures from the Epstein files?

Trump, Epstein Files, and Distraction

In early June 2025, President Donald Trump deployed National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles in response to protests against federal immigration raids.1 This move has been met with criticism from California’s governor and other Democratic leaders, who argue it’s an overreach and an attempt to inflame tensions.2

Around the same time, discussions about the release of more Jeffrey Epstein files resurfaced, fueled by an allegation from Elon Musk on social media claiming Trump was in the Epstein files. While the first phase of declassified Epstein files was released in February 2025 by Attorney General Pamela Bondi, many documents remain sealed or redacted, and there are ongoing calls for their full release.3

Some commentators and social media users have indeed speculated that the deployment of troops to Los Angeles might be a “coverup” or a “distraction” from the Epstein files claims and other political issues. However, there is no direct evidence to prove a causal link between these two events. The protests in Los Angeles are a direct response to immigration enforcement actions, and the Epstein files release is a separate legal and political process.
