Clashes erupted between students and police in Santiago on Thursday (November 5) during a protest demanding the resignation of Justice Minister Fernando Rabat over controversial prison sentence reductions for people convicted of sexual abuse and rape of minors, as well as human rights violations.
Protesters threw petrol bombs and other objects at police, who responded with water cannon and tear gas. Several demonstrators were detained.
