In this Times Now World News report, we break down the this topic:
The Kremlin said Russian President Vladimir Putin remains open to dialogue with world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, when asked whether the Russian leader would be willing to hold telephone conversations with them. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated that Putin was prepared to engage in dialogue with everyone, but gave no clear indication of whether a similar conversation could take place with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The remarks come amid continued diplomatic tensions over the war in Ukraine and ongoing differences between Moscow and Western capitals over efforts to end the conflict. While the Kremlin signalled its willingness to maintain communication with European leaders, its response regarding Zelenskyy left questions over the prospects for direct engagement between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents.
