A US military aircraft has transmitted a 7700 general emergency signal over Israel after a reported sharp drop in speed and altitude. Meanwhile, Iran claims that oil tankers caught fire after striking mines in the Strait of Hormuz, as another maritime incident involving explosive devices raises concerns about commercial shipping security. Is West Asia heading towards another major military escalation? In this report, Firstpost examines the emergency involving an American Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker over Israel, Iran’s claims of tanker explosions in the Strait of Hormuz, and a separate incident reported by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations involving a vessel near Oman. The developments come amid renewed concerns about a possible second round of US-Israeli military confrontation with Iran. Josh Barnes brings you the story on Firstpost Live.
