King Charles joined revellers dancing during a street parade in Nassau on Wednesday (October 28) on the second day of his Caribbean tour, which comes against the backdrop of increasingly vocal demands from the region that Britain pays reparations for its role in the slave trade.
The Junkanoo parade, a bi-annual event which organisers say is held to “celebrate Bahamian culture”, takes place on Bay Street, where the King met with founders of a museum dedicated to the festival, explaining its significance, before the parade kicked off.
