Barack Obama is taking another swipe at Donald Trump — and this time, it’s over the President’s reaction to a joke about his White House renovations!
Speaking at a Democratic campaign rally in Georgia ahead of the US Midterm Elections 2026, the former US President mocked Trump for reportedly being more upset by the “Cheesecake Factory” quip than by criticism of rising prices, tariffs and alleged corruption.
Obama had earlier compared Trump’s lavish White House renovations to something “Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.” He says the administration responded aggressively to the joke but did not address his criticism of the rising cost of living and tariffs.
Obama also took aim at Trump’s focus on gold decorations, renovations and a planned ballroom, arguing that the administration should be concentrating on affordability and the economic pressures facing American families.
Why has the Cheesecake Factory remark triggered such a political showdown? And could the Trump-Obama clash become another flashpoint in the battle ahead of the US Midterms 2026?
Watch the viral exchange and Obama’s sharp remarks on Trump’s White House makeover.
