Thousands of residents in Mexico protested over contaminated tap water, with several demonstrators arrested after clashes with police. Residents in some neighbourhoods have complained for months about water that appears yellow, is sullied and has a foul smell. The protest took place outside the governor’s residence, as public concern over water quality grows.
Governor Pablo Lemus said the government was working to address the problem after receiving thousands of complaints.
