Britain will be defended by an Israeli-style Iron Dome under plans unveiled by the Conservatives at their party conference.
In a speech to the Tory party conference in Birmingham, James Cartlidge, the shadow defence secretary, committed to spending £10bn on a hi-tech anti-missile and drone defence system he has called the “Britannia Shield”.
Bringing together advanced radar systems and interceptor missiles, it would be one of the UK’s most significant military programmes since the Cold War.
