A fire broke out at an oil facility in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh on Saturday, sending a dense plume of black smoke over the city, according to footage and an eyewitness. The cause of the blaze was not immediately clear, while security was tightened around the facility and police blocked roads leading to the site, the witness said. Saudi state oil company Aramco and the government’s Center for International Communication did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Saudi oil infrastructure has previously been targeted in missile and drone attacks linked to Yemen’s Houthi rebels and Iran-backed militias in Iraq.
