A flydubai Flight FZ1073, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 flying from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv with roughly 180 passengers on board, sounded a hijack alert on Wednesday.

WHAT HAPPENED INSIDE FLYDUBAI FLIGHT FZ1073?
While flying over the region, the aircraft first transmitted Squawk 7700 (general emergency) before switching to Squawk 7500, the international signal for unlawful interference or a hijacking.
Because the hijack code was sounded, the Israeli Air Force immediately scrambled fighter jets towards the airliner, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened urgent security consultations.
