Just hours after US President Donald Trump directed his administration to replace the term ‘artificial intelligence’ with ‘super intelligence’, Elon Musk appeared to slip up by using ‘AI’ before quickly correcting himself to ‘SI’.
The moment came during a White House event where Trump hosted Musk and other technology executives and signed an AI accord focused on strengthening industry self-regulation.
While speaking about the benefits of the technology, Musk began: ‘I think it’s worth highlighting the positive benefits of AI—’ before pausing and adding, ‘SI, pardon me.’
Trump appeared amused by the slip, responding with a quick ‘Thank you’ and tapping Musk on the arm.
