North Korea said it successfully tested a new weapon under the supervision of leader Kim Jong Un, state-run television KRT reported.
Kim said the test, conducted by North Korea’s Missile Administration, demonstrated ‘ultra-modern’ defence technology and reflected progress in modernising the country’s armed forces, according to state media.
The report did not identify the type of weapon tested. South Korea’s military said North Korea had fired two short-range ballistic missiles into waters off its east coast.
