Robots took centre stage at the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning, where visitors watched machines dance, serve tea and ice cream, make pizzas and demonstrate other applications of artificial intelligence. Organisers have dedicated a marketplace to more than 500 AI products, with exhibitors also showcasing technology for transport, smart logistics, urban management and industrial development. More than 3,400 companies from over 70 countries and regions are taking part in the five-day expo, which runs until September 21. Timor-Leste, ASEAN’s newest member, is also participating as a full member for the first time, displaying products including its coffee.
