The eyewitness said people nearby heard a loud rumbling sound before rushing outside to find the building completely collapsed, with smoke and dust covering the area. He claimed that several people had been rescued and that children could still be heard calling for help from beneath the rubble. According to the eyewitness, there were paying guest accommodations nearby, including a boys’ and girls’ PG, and labourers were working in the building at the time of the collapse. The eyewitness also alleged that renovation work, including basement construction and changes to the lower structure, may have contributed to the collapse.
