Nuwakot, Nepal: A 64-year-old woman was rescued alive from the debris of her partially buried home, 10 days after a deadly disaster tore through a Himalayan valley.
Chandika Shrestha was discovered on the fourth floor of her mud-covered house in Nuwakot district by a team from Nepal’s Armed Police Force on Saturday, September 5.
Rescuers pulled Shrestha from the debris before she was airlifted to a hospital in Kathmandu for treatment.
The disaster has reportedly killed more than 1,300 people, with over 5,600 still missing, according to local media reports.
