Newly released footage shows the moment a small airplane and a police helicopter collided midair at Carlisle Airport in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, August 19, killing the plane’s pilot and injuring two aboard the helicopter.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a private Cessna 150 airplane and a Bell 407 helicopter registered to the Pennsylvania State Police collided around 7:50 pm local time.
The two pilots on board the helicopter, both Pennsylvania State Police troopers on a flight instruction training exercise according to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), were seriously injured. The pilot of the airplane, identified as physician Paul Sokoloski, was killed.
