China Flood Horror: 2,500+ Students & Teachers Trapped as Drones Deliver Emergency Supplies
Severe flooding in east China has left more than 2,500 teachers and students stranded at a school in Zhejiang Province, prompting authorities to use drones to deliver emergency supplies.
Drones delivered 11.3 tonnes of emergency supplies to Cangnan Secondary Vocational School in Cangnan County, Wenzhou, after extreme rainfall caused floodwaters to rise rapidly across the campus.
The county recorded more than 260 millimeters of rainfall in 24 hours from Tuesday to Wednesday. Floodwaters became so deep that vehicles were submerged, with water rising above their roofs.
The dramatic operation highlights the scale of the China floods, extreme rainfall and flooding emergency as authorities work to support those trapped by the disaster.
