Eyewitness footage captured devastating scenes as a torrent of floodwater, mud and debris swept through a village near Betrawati Bazaar in Nepal’s Himalayan region. Nearly 270 people are reported dead, while hundreds of tourists, including foreign nationals, have also been reported missing.
The flooding has swept away homes, roads and hydropower infrastructure across parts of Rasuwa district near the Tibet border. Initial reports suggest a possible collapse of mud, rock or glacier ice may have triggered the disaster, though the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.
