The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday defended India’s relationship with Italy, saying bilateral ties have strengthened and expanded in recent years.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal made the remarks in response to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of the Narendra Modi government’s foreign policy and its ties with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
“We have strong ties with Italy,” Jaiswal said, emphasising that the relationship is built on mutual respect and understanding.
