In Michigan, Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed apologized this weekend for comments that he made after a synagogue attack outside Detroit in March.
The attack was carried out by a Lebanese man whose family had been killed in an Israeli strike.
El-Sayed condemned the attack and then said, “Hurt people hurt people.”
El-Sayed has since met with Jewish Democratic leaders and said that he made a mistake. He continues to face criticism from the president and the GOP.
